The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the datesheet for Class 10 and 12 students appearing for the 2025 board exams on December 3, 2024. According to the datesheet, the board exams for both classes will begin on February 15, 2025, with Class 10 exams concluding on March 18 and Class 12 exams ending on April 4, 2025. While students are diligently preparing for the exams, many have noticed that this year, CBSE is not starting the board exams with English. While Class 10 students will have ample time to revise their English syllabus, this is not the case for many Class 12 students.
According to the CBSE Class 12 board exam 2025 datesheet, the English exam is scheduled for March 11, 2025. However, for students who have chosen Mathematics (especially those in the PCM stream), as well as many students in Commerce and Arts, there is a concern. The Class 12 Mathematics exam is scheduled for March 8, leaving students with only two days—March 9 and 10—to revise for the English board exam.
While two days may seem sufficient to some, is it really enough? English is one of the most scoring subjects for many students, and in many cases, it is compulsory in the best-of-four criteria. Therefore, for many students, two days might not be enough to revise the entire syllabus, practice sample papers, and review previous years’ question papers.
