The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approved the use of basic, non-programmable calculators for Class 12 accountancy students starting from the 2025-26 academic session. This decision, ratified at the board’s 140th governing body meeting, is part of a series of reforms aimed at improving assessment methods, syllabus structure, and evaluation systems.According to CBSE, only basic calculators with functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage calculations will be permitted.
