NCERT restores original ‘Dancing Girl’ image in Class 9 textbook after row over added clothing | Mint
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on Monday decided to replace the altered depiction of the famous Mohenjo-daro ‘Dancing Girl’ sculpture in its Class 9 Arts textbook in the opening chapter, “History of Arts”, of Madhurima, with the original image after facing backlash over the figurine being shown with added clothing. NEW DELHI: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has issued an advisory warning against copyright infringement of its educational materials, alleging that some “unscrupulous publishers” are publishing its textbook content under their own names without permission.“Advisory on Copyrights Infringement in use of Educational Materials designed and developed by NCERT is herewith released as public notice.Stakeholders are requested to honour the Copyrights Advisory issued by NCERT in letter and spirit,” the NCERT stated on X.
