BENGALURU: Amid the controversy over the alleged plans to shut down new universities established during the BJP tenure, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Thursday informed the state assembly that the government intends to merge these universities with their parent institutions. Karnataka Withdraws Grace Marks for Class 10 Exams: A Shift Towards Academic Integrity In a significant policy shift, the Karnataka School Education and Literacy Department has decided to withdraw grace marks for Class 10 (SSLC) exams, effective from the 2024-25 academic year. Initially introduced during the Covid pandemic, the grace marks policy granted students an additional 10% to address learning gaps caused by the disruption of traditional education.An additional 10% was later introduced to compensate for reforms aimed at curbing examination malpractices. BENGALURU: The Karnataka government issued a government order on Wednesday restricting the degree programmes in the state to three years.The UG programmes will not have the option of a fourth year degree programme, as was introduced by the National Education Policy in 2021. The fourth year was optional earlier in the NEP scheme as well. However, the government is yet to take a decision on the multiple entry and exit options—which allows students to earn a certificate after the first year, a diploma after the second year, a degree after third year and an honours fourth year.The decision will be ... The Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka had declared the Pre-University Certificate (PUC) first year exam result on Saturday, 30 April.  The candidates who wrote the PUC 1 exam can check the result on the official website- result.dkpucpa.com.  Over 6.8 lakh (6,84,255) students are appearing in their Pre-University Certificate (PUC) second-year exam starting from Friday, 22 April. BENGALURU : The preparations for the second year pre-university exams to be conducted from 22 April to 18 May are in place including security arrangements, said Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh on Tuesday.
