GUWAHATI: The Assam government proposed on Wednesday to merge the state boards for Class 10 and 12 into a single entity to manage secondary education. The state government introduced the Assam State School Education Board Bill, 2024 in the Assembly, which establishes a new body to oversee the state’s education system through Class 12.According to the bill, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam, (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will be merged to create a new body — Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).
