Ramman Mahotsav is an annual festival of Chamoli Dist , Uttarakhand, a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand. Ramman is organized every year in the month or April i.e. Baisakhi is organized in Sallud village near Joshimath in Chamoli district  . The event lasts for five days and highlights the dedication, music, and dance of the region. It involves reenactments of scenes from the Ramayana with great passion and energy.

It is said that the Ramman festival is celebrated here from a very old time for about 500 years, as well as the festival is celebrated jointly by the local panchayat for 11 to 13 days. Raman Festival Is organized here too, but It is said that this festival of Sallud and Dungra is more famous.

A intresting dance form, where pople wearing the masks of deities and other characters, carved out of the stem of Bhoj tree (Betula Utilis) was performed by the villagers. It was introduced to the world by IGNCA (Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts), Delhi in 2008.

The Ramman Festival was recognized by UNESCO in 2009 as an important part of humanity’s cultural heritage. Acknowledging the significance of protecting and promoting our valuable cultural heritage to preserve it for future generations.
