Adults in rich countries are less literate than they were a decade ago. That requires attention

Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly Elections on November 20, the state education board has proposed to reduce the minimum passing marks required in Maths and Science to 20 out of 100, from 35 at present, in its new school curriculum framework. While students struggling with these subjects may find the move a relief, there remains a twist in the tale.
