NEW DELHI: In a relief to approximately 17 lakh madarsa students, the Supreme Court on Friday stayed an Allahabad High Court order that repealed the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act, 2004, calling it “unconstitutional” and a violation of the principle of secularism. LUCKNOW: The Allahabad High Court ruled Friday that the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act, 2004, is “unconstitutional” and violates the principle of secularism, and ordered the state government to accommodate current students in the formal schooling system.
