The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exam in its conclusive hearing of the controversial case.  The Supreme Court dismissed the pleas seeking cancellation and re-test of the exam, saying there was no material to show that the results of the NEET-UG exam were vitiated and there was a systemic breach in its sanctity, reported Live Law. The Supreme Court on July 8 put the matter concerning NEET-UG row for next hearing on July 11. The top court was hearing a clutch of petitioners demanding a re-test of the May 5 NEET-UG exam.  The results of NEET-UG were released on June 4 and have been marred by leaked question papers and the award of grace marks, or preferential marking, for 1,563 students. The Supreme Court is set to hear a batch of pleas related to the controversy-ridden medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2024 on Monday, July 8, according to the cause list for July 8 uploaded on the court’s website. The court will decree judgment on petitions seeking a direction to conduct the May 5 screening test afresh and those alleging irregularities and malpractices. NEET UG 2024 row: Anurag Yadav, a 22-year-old NEET UG 2024 aspirant, was arrested after confessing that the leaked question paper he received matched the actual exam question paper, as reported by India Today. The arrest came as part of a larger investigation, which also saw four men from Bihar detained for allegedly accessing the exam paper a day before the test.
