IITs caution recruiters not to delay joining dates of students
The Indian Institutes of Technology participating in their ongoing placements programme have asked recruiters to confirm there will not be any delays in the onboarding of the selected students. Some students from the placements team at IIT-Kanpur, in fact, told Mint that they have informed companies participating in the campus recruitment that if they deferred onboarding beyond a certain period they would be blacklisted. The first day of the annual ritual of clamouring for engineers graduating from the Indian Institutes of Technology has surfaced modest hiring patterns, even based on announcements from just three of these premier institutes as of Friday evening. IIT-Bombay saw 40 companies interviewing on the first day of placements, with about 80% of regular recruiters participating.
