The University Grants Commission (UGC)’s National Eligibility Test (NET) will be starting from tomorrow January 3 and will continue till January 16. NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided that starting from the academic session 2024-25, PhD admissions can utilize National Eligibility Test (NET) scores. This decision aims to streamline the admission process under the National Education Policy, eliminating the need for multiple entrance exams. The UGC made this determination during its 578th meeting on March 13, based on recommendations from an expert committee tasked with reviewing UGC NET exam provisions.Presently, the NET exam primarily serves for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) eligibility and assistant professor appointments. National Testing Agency (NTA) Monday said the Admit Card for applicants of UGC NET December 2023 has been made live at URL https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in and applicants whose examination is scheduled on 6th, 7th and 8th December, can now download their Admit Card from the NTA UGC website. The University Grants Commission (UGC) will revise the syllabus for the National Eligibility Test (NET) syllabus, Chairman Jagadesh Kumar was quoted by news agency PTI as saying on Tuesday evening. He said those appearing for NET will get sufficient time before its implementation. “The UGC will revise National Eligibility Test (NET) syllabus, candidates will get sufficient time before implementation,” Jagadesh Kumar said, adding that the UGC will form an expert panel for the exercise.
