Government vs IIMs: A story of deep distrust

The IIMs, India’s premier management schools, are centrally-funded. But for decades, many of them had been clamouring for more autonomy. That year, their wish was partly fulfilled—Parliament passed the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bill, effectively freeing the elite B-schools from government interference. Javadekar said that from then on, the IIMs would be “board-driven, with the chairperson and director selected by the board”. UGC announces new fellowship amounts for JRF, SRF and other fellowships

University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that it decided to increase the amount of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) and Post Doctoral Fellowship. The revised rates were considered and approved in the 572nd meeting held on September 20 and are applicable from January 1, 2023, the UGC said. Gujarat Board announces Class 10, 12 2024 exam dates. Check time table here
