The University of Delhi announced on Thursday that it has accepted the findings of a report investigating alleged irregularities in 12 colleges fully funded by the Delhi government. The report, compiled by a 10-member committee, was unanimously approved in a historic joint meeting of the Academic Council (AC) and Executive Council (EC) under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh.This marked the first joint AC and EC meeting in DU‘s 102-year history. NEW DELHI: Delhi’s Higher Education Minister Atishi has instructed the secretary (higher education) to launch an investigation into the purported irregularities within the 12 colleges of Delhi University funded by the government, as per officials. Atishi highlighted “significant procedural irregularities,” revealing that the colleges had made appointments for 1,897 positions (939 teaching and 958 non-teaching) without obtaining the necessary approval from the Delhi government. “Major procedural irregularities have surfaced.
