Indian students studying in Germany surged significantly over the past four years. According to a report by Studying-in-Germany.org, it was observed that the number of Indian students in Germany has increased by 107% in 4 years. The University Grants Commission (UGC) will revise the syllabus for the National Eligibility Test (NET) syllabus, Chairman Jagadesh Kumar was quoted by news agency PTI as saying on Tuesday evening. He said those appearing for NET will get sufficient time before its implementation. “The UGC will revise National Eligibility Test (NET) syllabus, candidates will get sufficient time before implementation,” Jagadesh Kumar said, adding that the UGC will form an expert panel for the exercise. Despite visa hurdles, Indian students in US surged a record 35% in 2022-23
Despite visa hassles, the United States still remains the top choice for higher education for Indians, Open Doors Report cited. In the academic year 2022-23, the number of Indian students in the US surged by 35%, reaching a record 268,923. During June-August 2023, which is typically the student visa season, the US Embassy and Consulates in India granted a record-high number of student visas. In India, consular staff granted 95,269 visas in the F, M, and J categories. This marks an 18% surge increase over the same timeframe. In India, the number of MBBS seats for aspiring doctors has increased from 51,348 to 91,927 in just nine years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has sought several measures to make medical education affordable, said Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday. QS Asia University Rankings 2024: India surpassed China to have the highest number of universities in the QS Asia University Rankings, news agency ANI reported on Wednesday. While record 148 Indian universities found their place in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024, 133 universities of China were in the list. Tier-four and -five cities such as Guntur, Ongole (Andhra Pradesh), Khammam, Warangal, Nalgonda, and Karimnagar (Telangana) are seeing a flurry of applications for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (Toefl) and Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). According to data shared with Mint, the number of applications for Toefl from Guntur crossed Mumbai to record the second highest number of applications in FY22 and FY23.
