A report submitted to the Union Education Ministry suggests that a student’s performance in Classes 9th, 10th, and 11th should be considered when awarding final marks in Class 12th. The proposal by PARAKH, a unit in NCERT aimed at standardising assessment by school boards across the country, suggests that the performance in the three classes be evaluated based on examination and continuing classwork in the Class 12th report cards. NEW DELHI: A Delhi University committee investigating alleged “financial irregularities” in 12 Delhi government-funded colleges has ruled out any misappropriation of funds and said the colleges can continue with their affiliation with the university. The panel submitted its findings in a report that was presented in the 1270th meeting of the DU’s Executive Council convened on Saturday to approve and discuss some key decisions.The Executive Council (EC) is the university’s highest decision-making body. Counselling for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 has been deferred and is expected to start by the end of July, according to a report by news agency PTI. Earlier, the counselling session was expected to begin in the first week of this month. However, the date has not been notified yet. In June, the Supreme Court had refused to defer the counselling process after a petition had sought a direction to pause the process for two days. New Delhi: A committee set up by the government to restructure the National Testing Agency (NTA), following allegations of irregularities in two important national-level examinations conducted by it, is seeking inputs from the public to improve its functioning. The Union education ministry on Friday said that the committee, set up on 22 June under the chairmanship of K. Radhakrishnan, former chairman of ISRO, is open to suggestions from all stakeholders, particularly from parents and students, till 7 July. NEW DELHI: Amid the ongoing crisis around paper leak allegations, the Ministry of Education on Saturday said it has constituted a high-level committee of experts to make recommendations on reform in the mechanism of the examination process, improvement in data security protocols and functioning of National Testing Agency (NTA). New Delhi: School students from across the country will get a chance to go on a seven-day study tour to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s school in Gujarat’s Vadnagar town, the Ministry of Education (MoE) said on Thursday.
