New Delhi: A committee set up by the government to restructure the National Testing Agency (NTA), following allegations of irregularities in two important national-level examinations conducted by it, is seeking inputs from the public to improve its functioning. The Union education ministry on Friday said that the committee, set up on 22 June under the chairmanship of K. Radhakrishnan, former chairman of ISRO, is open to suggestions from all stakeholders, particularly from parents and students, till 7 July. NEW DELHI: The “top leadership” of the National Testing Agency is under the scanner over alleged irregularities in competitive exams NEET and NET, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Saturday even as he denied any paper leak in the CSIR-UGC NET, which was postponed a day back. NEW DELHI: Amid the continuing controversy around exams conducted by the NTA, Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas on Friday wrote to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan raising concerns over the NEET and UGC-NET exams and alleging saffronisation of education under the BJP-led government. In his letter to Pradhan, CPI(M) MP Brittas urged him to discontinue the centralised NEET, limiting its scope to central medical institutions like AIIMS, PGIMER and JIPMER.He also called for a comprehensive review of NET to restore the autonomy of the universities and uphold the academic standards and transparency. Officials of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Union education ministry will reportedly be present at the examination centres where the reexamination for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) will be held this week.
