NEW DELHI: The Indian government has initiated several measures and reforms to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. In continuation of these efforts, further assistance is expected in the forthcoming budget 2024.To encourage learner-centric education, the National Credit Framework (NCrF), National Higher Education Qualification Framework, Academic Bank of Credit (ABC), and multiple entry/exit schemes have been introduced. Currently, over 1600 universities and colleges, along with more than 2.75 crore students, have enrolled on the ABC platform. NEW DELHI: Students securing a research internship during the fourth year of their undergraduate program will receive a stipend, insurance coverage, and academic credits. According to the guidelines set forth by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and communicated to higher educational institutions, participating companies will be obligated to offer a predetermined financial compensation to students undertaking internships within their organizations.The higher educational institutions will have to appoint nodal officers for research internships who will make agreements with various companies for the programme.Besides, the higher educational institutions may also search for group internship opportunities.The research internship will be done in the ...
