NEW DELHI: The Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS), a students body, on Saturday staged a demonstration outside Delhi University vice-chancellor’s office against a fee hike imposed in various courses. The student’s body representing working class and marginalised sections also accused the university of providing substandard study material to students of School of Open Learning (SOL). NEW DELHI: A mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) was conducted across the Delhi government and MCD schools on Saturday, an official statement said. Delhi Education Minister Atishi visited some of these schools located in East of Kailash and Kalkaji, and interacted with the parents and students there, it added. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Children will no longer have to lug hefty backpacks to schools, at least four days a month if the Kerala government decides to go ahead with its new ‘bag free days’ initiative. Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Fisheries Minister Saji Cheriyan on Thursday reiterated that there are some students in the state who are unable to read and write properly despite having cleared the SSLC exam. Cheriyan had last week sparked a controversy by saying that many students who pass the SSLC examinations lack the skills to write or read properly.
