NEW DELHI: A Delhi University committee investigating alleged “financial irregularities” in 12 Delhi government-funded colleges has ruled out any misappropriation of funds and said the colleges can continue with their affiliation with the university. The panel submitted its findings in a report that was presented in the 1270th meeting of the DU’s Executive Council convened on Saturday to approve and discuss some key decisions.The Executive Council (EC) is the university’s highest decision-making body. NEW DELHI: The Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS), a students body, on Saturday staged a demonstration outside Delhi University vice-chancellor’s office against a fee hike imposed in various courses. The student’s body representing working class and marginalised sections also accused the university of providing substandard study material to students of School of Open Learning (SOL). New Delhi, The University of Delhi has increased the passing criteria for promotion to the next year from 50 percent to 63 percent for all undergraduate courses, officials said. As a result, undergraduate students at all DU colleges must now achieve a total of 63 percent in their first and second semesters to qualify for promotion.However, students representing DU in sports, extracurricular activities, the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the National Service Scheme (NSS), and other similar activities may be exempt from this requirement, pending approval from their college’s competent authority. Delhi University (DU) has announced that it will introduce a single girl child quota across its courses starting from the upcoming Academic Session 2024-2025. DU Registrar Vikas Gupta stated that the university’s decision to provide more opportunities for single girl children under the supernumerary seats’ category is a first. This move intends to offer increased access to education for these individuals.
