The Maharashtra government has decided to adopt the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum starting from the 2025-26 academic year. State School Education Minister Dada Bhuse has announced that the CBSE curriculum will be implemented in all state schools from Class 1 to Class 12. The transition will be carried out under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Bhuse said the CBSE pattern will be implemented in two phases in the state. In northern Scotland¸ hundreds of schools have been shut after a weather warning for snow and ice was extended until Friday. The Met Office has warned that snowfall could reach up to 10 cm in higher regions. The office has issued ‘Yellow’ warning for Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, the Highlands, Orkney and Shetland, as well as the Outer Hebrides. Delhi-NCR pollution: The air quality in the National Capital Region (NCR) has remained hazardous for nearly a month. However,it improved from the ‘severe’ to the ‘very poor’ category on Sunday morning. At 8 am, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 357, falling under the ‘very poor’ category, compared to the 24-hour average AQI of 412 at 4 pm on Saturday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board. However, Anand Vihar remained in the ‘severe’ category with an AQI of 404. Due to excessive heat and rising temperature, all schools in Kamrup (Metro) district, which primarily comprises Guwahati city, have been ordered to remain closed for four days from September 24 to 27.
